Terms of Service

Effective September 28, 2026 · Last updated September 28, 2026

Please read these Terms carefully. They include a limitation of liability, an indemnity, and a requirement to try informal resolution before bringing a claim.

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] dba Ship It Lite ("Ship It Lite," "we," "us"). By using our website, submitting a quote or reservation request, or using our shipping, packing, pickup, or mailbox services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site or services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use our services. If you use them on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorized to bind that business to these Terms.

3. Our services

Quotes are estimates. Online quotes are based on the information you provide. The final price is confirmed after we inspect, measure, and weigh your item and is shown to you before we ship. Carriers may later apply adjustments for incorrect dimensions, weight, address corrections, or surcharges, and you agree to pay those adjustments.

Carrier terms apply. We act as an authorized retail shipping agent. Once a shipment is tendered to UPS, FedEx, USPS, or another carrier, the carrier's own terms, tariffs, and service guides govern transit, delivery times, liability, and claims. Delivery times are carrier estimates and are not guaranteed by us.

Mobile pickup. Pickup windows are requests until we confirm them. We may reschedule or decline pickups because of weather, traffic, safety, or capacity, and will tell you as soon as we can.

Mailbox rentals. Mailbox service begins after you sign a rental agreement, complete USPS PS Form 1583, and present two acceptable forms of ID. Your mailbox address is a private mailbox (PMB) at a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency and must be written in the format USPS requires. Rent is billed in advance; unpaid accounts may be suspended and mail returned to sender as USPS rules allow. Items not collected within the holding period stated in your rental agreement may be returned or disposed of.

4. Prohibited items and conduct

You may not ship or receive, and we may refuse, any item that is prohibited or restricted by law or by the carrier, including:

  • Hazardous materials, explosives, flammables, and lithium batteries not packed to carrier rules.
  • Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia.
  • Firearms, ammunition, and weapons, except as specifically allowed by law and carrier policy.
  • Cash, negotiable instruments, and other items carriers exclude from coverage.
  • Perishables, live animals, or anything that could harm people, property, or other shipments.

You are responsible for accurately describing contents and value. We may open or inspect any package tendered to us where the law permits. On the website, you may not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit false information, scrape data, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

5. Packing, declared value, and claims

If you pack an item yourself, you are responsible for packing it adequately. If we pack it, we use reasonable care and materials suited to the item described to us.

Carrier liability is limited to the carrier's standard coverage (commonly $100 per package) unless you purchase additional declared value coverage before shipping. Coverage is subject to carrier exclusions for items such as fine art, jewelry, collectibles, and improperly packed goods. Claims for loss or damage in transit are filed with and decided by the carrier; we will help you prepare and submit them. Report damage promptly and keep all packaging, since carriers may deny claims without it.

6. Accounts and payment

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your mailbox account details current. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping any access credentials confidential. Fees are due at the time of service unless we agree otherwise in writing. Prices on the website may change without notice but will not change for a service already confirmed.

7. Intellectual property

The website, including its text, graphics, logos, and design, is owned by Ship It Lite or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Carrier names and logos belong to their respective owners.

8. Third-party links and services

The site may link to carrier tracking pages, payment processors, maps, and other third-party services. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that delivery will occur by a particular time. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ship It Lite and its owners, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising from or related to the website or services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the website or services is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim, excluding carrier postage, or (b) $100. We are not liable for loss, damage, or delay while a shipment is in a carrier's possession, for which your remedy is the carrier's claims process.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ship It Lite and its owners, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, fines, penalties, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, the contents of any item you ship or receive, inaccurate information you provide, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

12. Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the website or services, including a mailbox rental under the terms of your rental agreement, if you violate these Terms, fail to pay, or use the services unlawfully. You may close a mailbox by giving notice as your rental agreement describes. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including payment obligations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification, will survive.

13. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Subject to the dispute resolution section, any action relating to these Terms or the services must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

14. Dispute resolution

Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at hello@shipitlite.com and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. Most issues are resolved this way.

If a dispute is not resolved, either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court in Los Angeles County if it qualifies. Otherwise, claims will be resolved in the courts named above. To the extent permitted by law, claims must be brought individually and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version takes effect when posted, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the website or services after an update means you accept the revised Terms. Changes do not apply to services already confirmed.
